LSU Continuing Education Certificate Programs Credit Certificate Program Louisiana State University’s Division of Continuing Education and Office of Independent and Distance Learning are pleased to provide undergraduate credit certificates in the following areas:
Course Requirements: Each program consists of five courses totaling 15 semester credit hours. In each program there are four required courses and one elective course. Course substitutions are not allowed and students must have prerequisite credits, where applicable. Courses for each certificate are as follows:
Method of Study: These courses are taken through LSU Independent and Distance Learning. All students should be familiar
with the policies & procedures,
and fee schedules for Independent & Distance Learning. Refer to the Independent and Distance Learning
Bulletin for complete information. Admission: Admission to each certificate program is through application and payment of a non-refundable $25.00 fee. While admission is not required prior to taking courses, students should apply no later than enrollment in a second course. Application may be done online. Or you can print out our Brochure, complete the application and mail it along with check, money order or credit card information to the LSU Office of Independent and Distance Learning. A nonrefundable, $25 processing fee is required. four-year period. Transfer Credit: Students are allowed to transfer only one three-hour credit course from
another accredited university. To be accepted, transfer course grades must be *C* or better. Credits
from LSU Evening School or LSU Extension Credit Programs are not subject to the single course limitation.
An official transcript should be sent with the request to transfer credit. All courses successfully completed
through LSU Independent and Distance Learning will be accepted. Certificate Completion: Certificates will be awarded to students who maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point
average. Upon completion of the final course in the certificate curriculum, candidates must contact the department
to provide
notice of completion. A $10.00 certificate fee is required at the time the certificate is awarded.
